Love it or hate it, its probably the best tool ever created to find new artists, old artists, and in some cases...correspond with them. Yeah, I know some of them are just publicist for the larger bands, some pages have that posted up front. However there are the legit person/band. All I know is I am having a great time. Btw, if anyone has visited Ted's page, well then you know it needs some work and its been spammed to death hehOh one other positive thing. It has helped me with initial stages of finding other musicians in my area to hang out and jam with.

I'm ashamed to admit my addiction as well. I started with it to keep up with a couple small-time bands that I wanted more info about. Then I realized maybe I could reacquaint myself with some old friends (which honestly hasn't worked out). So, yeah, it's a few real friends and a bunch of celebs. I don't know if I have had a legitimate message from anyone of note. But, hell, yeah, it's still fun. Kind of like the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon. Oh, you're a friend of so and so? Well, so am I.

That is pretty much exactly how mine is working out right now too Slu. I went looking for some old friends, I only found one that I grew up with from my generation. Turns out he is now a political lobbyist and radio personality in Florida. The only person of note that is actually corresponding with me almost daily (besides my brother who is currently serving in Iraq) is Billy Sheehan. And a vocalist that I know from another board that invited me after those exchanges. He has sung for guys like Jason Newsted and a whole slew of others. His name is David Fefolt.
