In Ted's latest column for the Waco Tribune he writes about Elvis appearing on The Ed Sullivan Show and states, "Elvis on TV ignited a brand new army of musicians that Sunday night in 1953. 1953!"

Ted is wrong. Elvis made his first appearance on Sullivan on September 9, 1956. Elvis didn't even release his first record for Sun until 1954, so to place the Sullivan show appearance in 1953 is preposterous.

Ted has pulled some boners before. For instance, in a recent column he wrote "I thank God for Chuck Berry and Bo Diddly and Les Paul."

Ted should have shown a little more respect for Bo by spelling his name correctly - it is "Diddley."

Ted made the same error in a July 2007 column titled "From glory of James Brown to disgrace of hip-hop nation."

There Ted wrote, "Sure, Elvis, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones all had a decisively powerful grip on all of us music lovers. But they were inspired by black soulmasters like Howling Wolf, Muddy Waters, Mose Allison, Lightning Hopkins, Bo Diddly, Chuck Berry, all the Motown geniuses and other blues, gospel and R&B greats."

That one made me cringe for another reason as well -  although he sounds like a "black soulmaster" Mose Allison is a white guy!

I like that Ted is outspoken, but he disrespects the history of rock and roll with these blunders. Get a fact checker Ted!

You missed the whole point!!! Ted missed the effin' "E" in 'DiddlEy'!!! How in the hell can we take Nuge seriously if he misses the damn "E"???  Wars have been started and careers ruined for far less offenses!

I Dont think he missed the 'E'....he prolly just "mutilated" it. ........I Believe he invented it (Mutilated) "E" (chord) back in 1976 ........Im sure you all have heard it before, He called it a "FREE FOR ALL" !!

Nice one, problem is that the mutilated E chord is not a chord at all...it is a Diad called E5.

Perhaps we should send Ted  back to skool for spewwin' Inglish and cords before he is Pres.

On one of his instructional guitar videos, he can't remember the Brydland tailpiece is known as a "trapeze", he asks the guy off camera to remind him.  In the same video, he answers a question regarding "playing behind the nut", demonstrating how he uses the large string surface behind the BRIDGE to bend strings and do vibrato stuff. And end's it by saying something like, "there you have an example of playing behind the nut" or words to that effect.  The bulk of the video was how you should use the meat of your picking hand to "dig in" and get your tone.

It was a bit surprising, but won't stop me from being his biggest fan in Oregon.
