I have been a Gonzo fanatic since 1975, the first time I heard Stranglehold and Stormtroopin playing on a friends 8-track player.  I have seen Ted live at least 12 times over the years, from a small club in Fort Wayne, IN. to the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX., and he gets better each time.  His passion and enthusiasm are unmatched...by anyone.

I recently read Ted's book, titled above, and I must say I was disappointed.  Any Huge fan knows Ted's love for guns and the freedoms those guns bring.  However, I was disappointed to read that his entire book was devoted to guns and hunting.  Most people know of Ted from his music.  He is that crazy looking wildman who plays the loudest guitar ever heard, that likes to hunt.

I know Ted has had an extrodinary music career.  I wish he would write a book detailing his career from the time he picked up a guitar, through the turbulent 70's and 80's, through the current times.  Just a thought/wish!

Funny, while I have been listening to NUGE since I first saw him in '75, today I see him as an activist for all that is right for America who just happens to be a guitar legend ;)

I loved the book. But, I can see where a lot of folks would like to see one devoted to music too.

Have you/are you going to catch NUGE this tour?

Hey I agree! I love the book but it would be nice to get a rock n roll only book out of him. You know he has some killer stories. I'd love for that to happen, but the way things are, I'd say it probably will never happen.

I bought the book when I first heard of it. I read it through in 2 days and thought it was/is a great book. But I to hoped for more of his Rock N Roll life. Like Jeff says maybe someday. If were lucky.

I have to disagree.  I read a lot of musician autobiographies and it was nice to read one that wasn't just about the music.

I took my copy to the NRA convention in Houston and had Ted sign it...which means I gotta get another copy to read and loan out to others.

    -----------------------

Both great books; literate, emotive and insightful.

    But with a fatal flaw:

in “Married to a Rock Star”, Chapter 3, “The Business of a Rock Star”, sub-section “So Ya Wanna Be a Guitarboy Do Ya”, page 59:

“Write a song called Uncle Ted Jams Major Ass. Send me a copy of your tape.”

Hey Tim, nice to meet ya!  I used to be a semi regular on the old site under the name of DetroitJim.  Huge Uncle Ted fan here.  Originally from Riverview, Michigan.  Grew up on the Madman and seen him many, many times live.

GGNRR is an awsome read.  So is Kill It And Grill It.  Try to find Bloodtrails if ya can, another good read.  I don't think Ted has written anything just on his music, although there are a lot of GuitarPlayer mags and others out there with articles and interviews from him.

Good luck and nice to meet ya!!

Teds wife put out a book titled MARRIED TO A ROCK STAR which is a good read. Lots of behind the scene info.
