Hunters for the Hungry

Ted Nugent United Sportsmen of America
Hunters for the Hungry Program

TNUSA Michigan is unique; in that, it has united with other sports groups and organizations to form an organization known as Michigan Sportsmen Against Hunger (MSAH). MSAH is a non-profit 501C3, tax-deductible, 100% volunteer organization that operates as a facilitator to all groups in Michigan insuring that sportsmen and sportswomen get represented in a good light to the non-hunting public for their efforts in feeding the hungry.

Every other State that has TNUSA representation should pursue starting a similar organization with the other sports organizations in their State. The founding member groups in Michigan are: Safari Club International, Michigan Bowhunter's Association, Michigan United Conservation Club, Ted Nugent United Sportsmen of America, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, United Methodist Men's Club, and the Food Bank Council of Michigan. Most of the other States also have these same organizations in them and each one has its own organization to feed the hungry; but by combining them into one organization like we have, it eliminates duplication of efforts.

MSAH was very fortunate and grateful in being able to get the Sportsmen Against Hunger legislation passed which allows a group to contract out with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources in order to request and obtain donations collected at the time of purchase of hunting and fishing licenses. This program was unanimously passed by the House and Senate and signed into law by the Governor of Michigan. A special thanks goes out to everyone involved in making this happen. This will make more funding available to process more venison meat and further the program's mission.

It is a very satisfying feeling to help the hungry and the homeless GET INVOLVED IN YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITY! You will be glad you did.
