Ted Nugent ANNUAL MICHIGAN OPENING DAY DEER HUNTS

Here's what past hunters have to say about this hunt adventure......

Dear Ted,

I want to again thank you for the wonderful hospitality you extended to all the hunters at the sacred Nuge hunt grounds during the 2001 Michigan Gun Opener. You truly could not have made us feel anymore welcome. Your Michigan deer are numerous though not easily hunted. The animals were extremely weary and the hunter needed to be patient, hyper-vigilant, and stealthy. They call it fair chase but sometimes you get the impression that the animals have the upper hand! I enjoyed myself thoroughly though found myself exhausted at the end of each day of hunting. Jim did an outstanding job organizing the hunt and keeping tabs on things. I think Jim would have done just about anything to accommodate each and every hunter. I actually felt very sad when it came time to leave. As I was driving through your hunt grounds for the last time, I felt as though I was saying goodbye to a new best friend. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

P.S. The venison made it home to New Hampshire safely and my butcher was very pleased with the care my meat receive.

Dear Ted,

I wanted to drop you a short note to let you know what a tremendous time I had your cabin the "North Woods" for the opening of Michigan's gun season. From the comments I heard from the other guys, they also had an outstanding and memorable time. The food, hunting, unbelievable beauty of your cabin, guitar playing, story telling, and everything else you did made this the most enjoyable hunting trip I've been on, and one that I won't ever forget. Jim Lawson deserves special recognition for the outstanding job that he did in taking care of all of the logistics. I look forward to returning next year and sharing a campfire with you and other hunters at your cabin. My son will be accompanying me. As a young hunter, I believe it is very important for him to see and experience what a true hunting camp is all about.

Regards, Ward Parker

Dear Ted,

I can't tell you in words what a wonderful time I had at the Michigan bow opener. Meeting you was a highlight in my hunting life. To met a fellow bloodbrother that enjoys nature, and the thrill of the hunt is beyond words. I am looking forward to hunting with you again. I am planning to hunt buffalo with you within in the next year. Remember, you are welcome to come share our campfire in Africa in August 2002@ Angus Brown's place.

I now have a sence of what you mean when you talk about the Spirit of the Wild. I came back to Texas baptisted in a newness that is addictive and stirs my soul and spirit for more.

Thanks again and good luck with the rest of your hunting season.

Ted,

I just got done skinning a buck and am about to fillet some backstrappage shortly, but I just wanted to take a minute to thank you again for the wonderful time I had at your camp. Truly more fun than one should be allowed to have. Once again, Jim Lawson did a bang up job in maximizing everyones opportunities for a successful hunt and deserves a big pat on the back also. This deer hunting stuff really means a lot to me, and it was very powerful for me to share your opening day campfire. Hopefully, I'll be back next year with that attitude and spirit flowing full bore.

Thanks again.
