Nugents Give From The Heart
05/14/07
FORT SAM HOUSTON, TEXAS – Ted Nugent and wife Shemane were recently
honored to donate to the Soldier & Assistance Family Center of San Antonio
on behalf of their non-profit Freedom's Angels Foundation.
Following a USO tour of the Middle East with country legend Toby Keith, recent
months have seen Nugent and his wife Shemane visiting military bases
nationwide, and witnessing firsthand the urgent need to assist our brave
troops. Thus, Freedom's Angels was born.
The recent donation has been earmarked for a large courtyard pavilion, which
will allow injured soldiers to enjoy the outdoors in a sheltered area while
they recuperate. The pavilion will be a place where these individuals can
gather with friends and family members to relax and socialize.
"The Nugent family, like all thoughtful, appreciative families across
America, know that our daily pursuit of happiness and the American Dream is
provided by the sacrifices of our military heroes and their families,"
says Nugent. "Our Freedom's Angels charity, through the always generous
giving by so many, is but one way we can give back to those who have given so
much."
Workers are scheduled to break ground in August, and the Nugents plan to take
part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony planned for its completion.
"Our dream of building a patio for injured soldiers at Brooke Army Medical
Center is finally coming to fruition. These brave young men and women
will finally have a chance to enjoy the great outdoors during their difficult
recoveries," stated Shemane Nugent.
