Sometimes
controversial always colorful Waco rocker Ted Nugent has wrapped up his
summer tour and has launched his first new album in five years, “Love
Grenade”
“When you
hear it, you're gonna just smile, close your eyes and go, 'Nugent!'
It's such a classic piece of what we were brought up on,” the
transplanted Motor City Madman told Billboard Magazine.
Nugent
release his first solo album in 1975, but he first attracted attention
as frontman of the Amboy Dukes, and the new release includes an old
standard, “Journey to the Center of Your Mind,” which the Dukes
recorded in the late 1960s.
“The
Amboy Dukes were the quintessential garage band. I wanted to play
homage to the privilege of somehow landing in that camp,” Nugent told
Billboard.
Nugent’s summer tour started in June in Fort Wayne, IN and ended Monday in Pueblo, CO where he performed at the Colorado State Fair.
