This started out as an article encouraging parents to take our children turkey hunting this spring. A magic experience during a magic time of year. As you will soon read, my focus turned from magic to tragic.

As a crusader for all things out-of-doors for both children and adults, I recently spent a little time doing some cursory research on the internet. Instead of turkey hunting statistics, what I found hit me like a thunderbolt. As I read, I wiped away a tear or two from my eye.

We are literally destroying our children. Destroy is the right word. I can think of no word more appropriate...
