Eagle To Unleash Catalog
02/05/09
No one does it like The
Nuge. Though he's developed a reputation as an avid outdoorsman and outspoken
political activist, TED NUGENT is first and foremost a pillar in rock ‘n' roll
history. The master who's taught legions of heavy hitters and bred countless
emulators throughout his five-decade career will showcase his one of a kind guitar
prowess in a six set retrospective.
These albums (Nugent, Penetrator, Little Miss Dangerous, If You Can't Lick
‘Em...Lick 'Em, Spirit of the Wild, and Full Bluntal Nugity) will be re-issued by
Eagle Rock Entertainment on February 3. Pummeling eardrums, tearing up stages
with his off-the-wall, no-holds-barred antics, combined with the nastiest
guitar licks Detroit ever produced, this catalog should satiate anyone whose
palette is wet for some good American rock.
Nugent (1982) is the self-titled album that tells it like it is. Penetrator
(1984) is ever-ready arena rock, as opening track 'Tied Up In Love' launches
itself from the speakers with its epic bombast. Little Miss Dangerous (1986)
has just enough grit to keep those "sell-out" chanters in check. If You Can't
Lick ‘Em...Lick ‘Em (1988) delivers more stripped to the bones Rock ‘N' Roll.
Kicking back into high gear with 1995's Spirit of the Wild proved that the
seven-year hiatus only gave Nugent more time to brew up some kick-ass rock.
Full Bluntal Nugity (2000) saw this tornado of a man whipping through Detroit
in a rousing live set, featuring bassist Marco Mendoza (TWISTED SISTER) and
sticks master Tommy Aldridge. Featuring classic cuts such as 'Cat Scratch
Fever', 'Free For All', and 'Fred Bear', the roar of the Michigan crowd in the
background stands as proof that this man brings it home with authority.
Kicking off the New Year with such a lavish catalogue is not out of the
ordinary for the Motor City Madman: 35 million albums sold and 6000 shows later,
Uncle Ted is still showing no signs of slowing down. He's kept busy throughout
2008, with the release of his Ted, White, and Blue: The Nugent Manifesto book,
Eagle Rock's release of Sweden Rocks (May/June 2008), a livewire riot captured
on CD/DVD from the Sweden Rocks Festival in 2006, and of course, the release of
his latest studio album Love Grenade (Eagle) in September of 2007. Truly, Ted
Nugent has no intention of ever quitting...and true rock fans wouldn't have it
any other way!
