Local sports shows on the horizon

It's that time of year when we start to run low on outdoor activities. Many are still small game and doe hunting and from the sounds of it this past week some are still pursuing the ever present Canada geese. The extremely adventurous are waiting patiently for the ice to thicken on area lakes.

For all outdoors enthusiasts, however, the winter sportsmen's show schedule is starting to take shape.

If you have become a fan of Ted Nugent and all he has to say about the Second Amendment and outdoors pursuits, mark the calendar for the weekend of Feb. 26-28. That weekend is the Outdoor Times Hunting and Fishing Show in Altoona. Uncle Ted is only one reason to go. This show is the biggest on the left side of the state.
