Kids learn from Ted - Survivor style!
07/24/01
Caseville, MI
Bowhunting rocker Ted Nugent, founder of the acclaimed Ted Nugent Kamp for Kids, delivered his anti-drug/pro-outdoors message to this year's Kampers with help from a real Survivor. Nugent welcomed Mike Skupin, of TV's Survivor fame, to this year's Kamp on Friday, June 22. Seems that Nugent and Skupin have a lot in common. Both hail from Michigan. Both are avid hunters. And both work with young people, encouraging them to make positive choices in life.
Skupin, who first burst into the American consciousness by killing a wild boar, and later by sustaining serious burns on the reality-based television show, appeared at this year's Kamp at the express invitation of Nugent. "Mike brought the most fundamental and honest reality to the concept of survival by killing food. Mankind has survived for a single reason-he killed food," states Nugent. "That tooth, fang and claw awareness is what Mike Skupin brought to Survivor, and that's what he brought to our Ted Nugent Kamp for Kids."
"Working with Ted Nugent was an honor and a BLAST!" said Skupin. "His view of life and the outdoors is incredibly refreshing. Ted has a great heart for the outdoors and for kids. A classic combination for a great all-around experience!"
