archery Ted Nugent Kamp for Kids (TNKFK) celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary near Omaha, Nebraska on June 8.

One hundred local young people participated in the TNKFK, which Nugent created to provide a positive alternative to drugs, alcohol and tobacco.

This was the sixteenth year TNKFK had been held in the Omaha area. Over 1,500 young people have been provided basic instruction in the outdoor lifestyle since TNKFK began in the Omaha area.

“Even with a cool rain, we adapted, improvised and overcame. We once again hit a grand slam homerun for the future of the great outdoors,” expressed Nugent, who provided personal instruction and inspiration to the youngsters, along with his wife Shemane.

Additional Ted Nugent Kamps will be held in Iowa, Colorado and South Dakota in 2013.

“I made a promise to the great Fred Bear in 1987 to promote the outdoors to our young people. I’m not even warmed up yet,” said Nugent, host of the award-winning Spirit of the Wild television program on Outdoor Channel.
