On Tuesday, July 16 SafetyHeroes.org welcomed over 200 active and retired members of local law enforcement, fire and military personnel to the 5th Annual SafetyHeroes.org fundraiser at City National Grove of Anaheim. Notable attendees including Ted Nugent, Leigh Steinberg, and Davey Lind along with organization Founder and event producer, Mark Peacock, all delivered moving presentations and over $15,000 was raised in support of the cause.

The fundraiser attendees included members from various LA and Orange County Police Departments, Huntington Beach Fire, Orange County Deputy Sheriffs, U.S. Marines, U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret, Firearms Training Associates, Combat Ready U.S.A. and more. SafetyHeroes.org Founder, Mark J. Peacock of The Law Offices of Mark Peacock in Newport Beach opened the evening welcoming guests and introducing members of Semper Fi Fund with a touching video detailing the organizations efforts. Double leg amputee, MSgt Davey Lind, USMC (Ret), presented his touching person story and how Semper Fi Fund provided priceless assistance in his recovery process. Notable Sports Agent, Leigh Steinberg, also spoke about the importance of supporting those injured in the line of duty and their families. American guitar legend and activist, Ted Nugent, made a special appearance and presentation to Semper Fi Fund prior to his concert at the City National Grove later that evening.

Multiple Taylor guitars, original artwork and other collectible items signed by Ted Nugent were part of the silent auction that helped raise funds for the cause. Other bidding items included sports lessons and outdoors activities donated by various Olympic athletes that were in attendance at the event including two-time USA Olympic kayaking team member, Cathy Marino and Olympic track cyclist, Connie Paraskevin among others.

“Semper Fi Fund would not be able to provide the necessary resources and support to the injured service personnel and their families without the selfless assistance of individuals like Mark Peacock and SafetyHeroes.org,” commented Kerry-Ann Ellington, Community Outreach Representative at Semper Fi Fund. “Mark donates countless hours and efforts to make this fundraiser more successful every year and we cannot thank him and all of the donors enough.”

The Semper Fi Fund directs urgently needed resources to post 9 11 members of the Marine Corps, Army, Air Force and Coast Guard who serve in support of Marine forces. The non-profit provides relief for financial hardships that arise during hospitalization and recovery as well as assistance for those with perpetuating needs. The programs provide support in a variety of ways including service member and family support, specialized and adaptive equipment, housing and transportation, education and career transition assistance, therapeutic arts and Team Semper Fi.
