Signing your own arrest warrant that would lead to your hanging if caught is what our forefathers did when 56 of them signed the Declaration of Independence.
They knew that King George would view their signatures as an act of treason punishable by death. Kings suck.
Our forefathers signed the declaration anyway, pledging their “lives, their fortunes and sacred honor” in hopes to have a taste of liberty and freedom.
Their signatures were a bold, brave act of defiance.
Today, we celebrate Independence Day by seemingly forgetting the bravery of our ancestors who gave birth to this wonderful experiment in self-government so many years ago.
If our forefathers could see us now, they would surely hang their heads in shame at the grotesque size, power and corrupt influence our federal government wields. It is the type of government they rebelled against by signing a Declaration of Independence and going to war with the world’s largest military.
Thomas Jefferson, the principal author of the Declaration of Independence, would surely encourage us to rebel. It was Mr. Jefferson, the father of the Democratic Party, who wrote that, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
It was guns, gunpowder and guts that gave birth to America. Yet, many of our Fedzillacrats in power today want to strip away our Second Amendment rights under the artful guise of making America safer.
Those Fedzillacrats who champion gun control have an agenda, and that agenda does not include liberty or freedom. If they could regulate the Second Amendment into obsolescence, they would.
Our forefathers would warn us to never trust a government that does not trust its citizens with rifles. They would also encourage us to vote these anti-freedom Fedzillacrats out of office real fast.
President Obama has said that he does not believe the tens of millions of Americans who have concealed carry permits should be permitted to carry weapons and defend ourselves when these millions of Americans are proven to be the most law-abiding group of citizens of any section of society.
The president believes we should rely on the thin blue line to protect us. We know, however, that when life-and-death seconds count, the police are just minutes away.
It is state-sanctioned barbarism to force defenselessness upon peaceable and law-abiding citizens. None of our Founding Fathers would stand for this government-sponsored barbarism to be forced upon Americans. They would order up a bucket of tar and a few sacks of feathers.
The Second Amendment is about freedom, about real independence. It was written to provide us the right to protect ourselves from tyranny. It was not written to protect our right to hunt ducks and deer.
Stand, America. Stand against any Fedzillacrat who wishes to restrict our rights instead of advancing liberty and freedom. Never fail to declare your independence.
Ben Franklin warned us that: “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” Do not to give up our essential liberty to purchase the facade of temporary safety.
We have a choice not unlike our forefathers who signed the original Declaration of Independence. Our choice is either to be free men and women or sheep-like subjects.
Choose Freedom! Happy Independence Day, everyday.
