Ted Nugent – No Ammo Required

Friday, January 31, 2014

By Erika Thomas

Walking into the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas for the SHOT Show was like NAMM for guns! SHOT (Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Tradeshow) is where Screamer Magazine caught up with Uncle Ted after an amazing invitation to walk the show with him. Weaving in and out and up and down the aisles, a line has formed at the American Tactical booth as The Nuge is seated for a meet and greet and autograph signing as he calls each man by name, (he cheats by reading name tags) and says “Hey Lady” to every female. The smile never leaves his face.

ROCK TO THE RESCUE RAISES IN EXCESS OF $300,000 FOR MIDWEST TORNADO VICTIMS

Friday, December 6, 2013

A special concert Wednesday night brought together some of the top performers in the nation to provide a glimmer of hope in a dark time. The all-star show, featuring Styx, Ted Nugent, REO Speedwagon and more, sold out in record time.

“We will not have an official number (on the overall donation) until early next week because we are still taking donations online, merchandise is still being sold, and the online eBay auction runs until Monday,” noted Jenna Fecht, marketing and communications manager for the Coliseum. “So it will be well over $300,000 when everything is figured,” she added Thursday.

Proceeds will go to area victims of the devastating storms and tornadoes that struck November 17.

You can still help! The group is conducting a charity auction of rock memorabilia and signed instruments at EBay.com/usr/RockToTheRescue. Direct donations are being taken at RockToTheRescue.net.

Ted Nugent Bumper Sticker Removed From Glen Rock Schools Truck After Complaint

Friday, December 6, 2013

By Chris Harris

A faded old bumper sticker, supporting a hypothetical presidential bid by Detroit rocker Ted Nugent, was removed from a school district maintenance vehicle this week.

The sticker was excised at the behest of a Glen Rock resident.

Sheldon Hirschberg, president of Glen Rock’s Board of Education, said an investigation by the district into the sticker revealed it had been placed on the vehicle some time ago.

When a resident spotted the sticker recently, he snapped a photograph of it, and alerted the board to the offending bumper sticker.

The resident, according to Hirschberg, took issue with Nugent’s pro-gun political stance. Nugent, an avid hunter, is a staunch opponent of gun legislation.

Politics had nothing to do with the sticker’s removal, Hirschberg said.

The sticker was pulled from the bumper “immediately upon notification” because “it is inappropriate for a school district vehicle,” Hirschberg said.

When asked if any school staffers would face disciplinary action over the display of the sticker, Hirschberg declined to comment, citing it as “a personnel matter” he could not discuss.

Esquire.com: Watch Ted Nugent’s “Fred Bear” Video

Friday, November 22, 2013

By James Joiner

NUG_EsquireIt’s hunting season, but before you get all gussied up in your orange jumper and lock ‘n’ load, we have a tribute to legendary bow hunter Fred Bear to get your juices stirring, by, of course, none other than Ted Nugent. Pulled from Nugent’s new Ultralive Ballisticrock concert video, it captures the experience of a Nugent show without the need for earplugs. “Fred Bear” is an ode to Nugent’s friend, mentor, and inspiration, and he has this to say about it:

“Music is a force to reckon with when performed with spirit and passion. All my music has a life of its own and is intoxicating to real music lovers everywhere. But when the opening riff of ‘Fred Bear’ is unleashed, it takes everything I possess to control my emotions, memories, and love for the great man. It is truly out-of-body. Fred is with me, my mom and dad are gathered around a family campfire, and the Great Spirit shines his ever-loving light on me. In the wind, he’s still alive.”

Message From Uncle Ted!

Saturday, September 7, 2013

TED NUGENT BLACK POWER2013 Tour is now just a psychosymatic stain. And what a lovely stain it is. The jury is not still out that this tour was indeed the greatest tour of my life. And that is REALLY saying something, because every tour since the 1960s has been the best tour of my life!!

An ultra-thanks to my killer bandmates throughout these many 50+ adventurous years.
Every guitarplayer dreams of surrounding themselves with a band like mine, and no band in the history of music has been tighter, more energized, firebreathing passionate, insane delirious FUN than my band. Mick Brown, Greg Smith and Derek St. Holmes put absolutely everything they got into every song, every concert, every night, and I SALUTE them and THANK them for helping me create this incredible American soundtrack of sensually stimulating freedom, fun and defiant dancemusic/soulmusic. You boys deserve me and vice versa.

Godbless my amazing band, crew, management, booking agents, family and entire support team. My totally gratifying pursuit of happiness would not be possible without you.

And most of all a double live Gonzo THANXSALUTE to my fellow R&B&R&R soulmusic addicts and fungluttons across the hinterlands for bringing such ferocious intensity to every gig every night. Clearly, real honest to God real music lovers still abound and it sizzles the cockles of my very being to know we are still alive and well.

Godbless and Godspeed to you all. May you keep the spirit of American music roaring in your soul, and may you all have the greatest hunting season of your lives, just like I am! May your UltraLive BallisticRock blast not so quietly forever in your lives and with the Good Lord’s blessing, we will see you next summer to dance the animal dance once again.

Sincerely,

Ted Nugent
